Celebrating Mexican Independence: A Tradition at Madison

On September 15, Madison International School, Mérida Campus, celebrated Mexico’s Independence Day with a traditional celebration that brought together students from Preschool through High School. One of the highlights was a reenactment of the Grito de Independencia (Cry of Independence), in which students recreated Miguel Hidalgo’s historic call for independence in 1810. The celebration also featured traditional Mexican games, authentic Mexican food, and live mariachi music, creating a festive atmosphere filled with community spirit and student participation.
